Marta przesłała nam opis form nadzoru w swojej pracy: „Monitoring jest w każdym pomieszczeniu oprócz łazienki, WC i kuchni. Szef nie wytłumaczył pracownikom powodów montażu kamer, stwierdził jedynie, że służą »kontroli jakości pracy«. Obiecał, że wejdzie specjalne zarządzenie dotyczące kamer. Minęło 1,5 roku i nic. Zarządzenia nie ma, kamery sobie pracują, a my nawet nie wiemy, co rejestrują (sam obraz czy może też dźwięk). Na komputerach mamy też zamontowany program szpiegujący – wiadomo, monitoring to za mało. Na początku nic nie wiedzieliśmy o tym programie. Jego istnienie odkrył przypadkiem jeden z pracowników, który trochę się zna na komputerach. Okazało się, że program robi wszystko: filtruje historię przeglądania i wysyła do szefa alerty, gdy wchodzi się na strony prywatne (poczta, rachunek bankowy), oblicza wydajność pracy, czas edycji jednego pliku itd.

Jak nadzór w pracy wpływa na Martę?: „Wieczne poczucie, że coś robię za wolno: za wolno czytam, piszę. Poczucie, że kogoś okradam z czasu, za który mi płaci. Choć, myśląc racjonalnie, wcale tak nie jest. Mimo to zostaję po godzinach, za które nikt mi nie płaci. Zauważyłam też, że stałam się o wiele bardziej nerwowa w życiu prywatnym: podnoszę głos, szybciej się irytuję. Poczucie bycia cały czas obserwowanym w pracy przez »oko Saurona« towarzyszy całemu zespołowi i doprowadza do absurdalnych sytuacji: dziewczyny wstydzą się poprawić sobie rajstopy w pokoju, bo wiedzą, że ktoś to gdzieś zapisuje, monitoruje, ogląda” – komentuje Marta.

U nas dało się ten program oszukać przy odrobinie umiejętności hackerskich. Np. strona nie liczyła się jako otwarta o ile jej okno nie było aktywne, wstarczyło otworzyć dwa okna, jedno z tym co chce się oglądać, a drugie małe z jakąś "bezpieczną" stroną i czytając mieć aktywne to małe. Wtedy zaliczało "nieporządanej" stronie tylko tę sekundę która zeszła na przełączenie się między oknami, żeby coś kliknąć, a czas czytania trafiał do puli "małego" okna. Z programami robiło się z kolei tak, że (o ile program przedstawiał się po naciśnięciu ALT+CTRL+DEL nazwą pliku) zmieniało się nazwy plików EXE od programów tak, żeby były tymi, które powinny trafić do logu. Na unikanie nieuzasadnionych bezczynności podczas pracy (za dużo minut w toalecie itp.) sprawdzał się programik symulujący ruchy myszą. I oczywiście komputer się włączało jeszcze przed zdjęciem butów i wpisaniem się na listę, żeby już liczył, a wyłączało dopiero jak się już pozamykało okna w biurze i było gotowym do wyjścia. Facebooka konfigurowało się z kolei w komunikatorze, który oficjalnie był do wewnętrznej komunikacji w firmie, ale miał możliwość skonfigorowania dodatkowych kont (FB, Gmail).

Problem był tylko w tym, że trzeba było oprócz raportować na co się poświęciło czas, a jak się go poświęcało na bzdury to zwykle z powodu tego, że ktoś inny w firmie nie przydzielił ci zadań, więc za bardzo nie było czego raportować, a wielki brat chciał, żeby raporty się zgadzały. Więc to już bywała radosna (a w zasadzie bardzo frustrująca) twórczość (i w okresie urlopowym, kiedy rozdający zadania mieli wolne, modlenie się w duchu, żeby danego dnia było COKOLWIEK do zaraportowania).
